Tentative FLST Hurricanes practice schedule for 2012

Our practice schedule guide lines are for general groupings.

During our after school practice days, the head and lead coaches will be observing and evaluating all swimmers for exact practice placement. Ie all practice placements are determined on an individual ability basis.

For maximum benefit to the swimmer, every effort should be made to attend these afternoon swim practices as often as possible. During this time our coaches will be getting the necessary information to properly assess your child’s abilities, recommend practice groupings, and prepare for the first swim meet of the season. The more they see you and can coach you, the better you will become and the better the practices will be for everyone when we switch to the regular morning schedules.

Each swimmer is different and each practice is different by design to meet the needs of those swimmers assigned to that practice. Ie. A 9 year old swimmer may be asked to swim with the 7-8 until they are ready for the more strenuous practice later in the season. A 11-12 year old may be asked to swim with the 13-18 if they are able to handle this practice level.

All swimmers are expected to attend regularly their assigned practice. The coaches will work to accommodate individual special circumstances if there is a personal difficulty presented by the swimmers assigned practice time.

All swimmers practice by AGE GROUP on Wednesday’s for meet assignments and to practice relay starts with the assigned relay teams.

Practices are at the South Pool unless stated otherwise

PRE-SEASON PRACTICES

3:15 PM - 3:45 PM 5-8 years old

3:45 PM - 4:45 PM 9-11 years old

4:45 PM - 6:00 PM 12-18 years old

NOTE: There will be no practices on Monday, May 28th for Memorial Day

June 11 – July 27, 2012 

MORNING PRACTICES (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday Schedule, also Thursdays that do not follow a meet)

BLACK 9:30 am - 11:15 am 13-18 years old

NOTE: All interested swimmers are welcome to attend afternoon practices.
